After losing her job, Tulip Gallows refuses to move back home with her religious fundamentalist family, and instead forms a reluctant bond with an eccentric house painter named Kinard. Just like Tulip, Kinard is harboring a few issues from childhood, but despite conflicting views of the world (and despite breaking a few laws), he may just be able to show her the path for moving on with her life.
