Email Order Bride is an expose of the modern mail order Russian bride business focusing on one international marriage brokerage. The documentary shows two potential couples as they meet and date for the first time. In interviews the men explain why they are looking for a non-American woman and the hopes the women have for this kind of arrangement become clearer. But the founder of a US advocacy organization interjects with the potential risks, citing some of men’s stated agenda to buy an obedient, foreign wife and the chilling example of one such marriage than ended in the wife’s murder.
