Dushmani: A Violent Love Story is a Bollywood action-packed drama film that was released in 1995. The movie was directed by Bunty Soorma and produced by Karim Morani. It stars the iconic duo of Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff in lead roles. The movie also features Anupam Kher, Deepti Naval, and Meenakshi Sheshadri in supporting roles. The film revolves around two brothers, Suraj (Sunny Deol) and Deepak (Jackie Shroff), who belong to a wealthy family. While Suraj is the elder brother who is tough and fearless, Deepak is the complete opposite of him. He is a soft-hearted person who believes in resolving conflicts peacefully. Despite their differences, the two brothers share a strong bond and are always there for each other.
Their lives take a dramatic turn when Suraj falls in love with Sapna (Meenakshi Sheshadri), a simple girl from a lower-class family. Sapna is very different from Suraj's usual love interests, who are wealthy and glamorous girls. However, Suraj's father is against this relationship and tries to sabotage it at every step. Things get worse when a misunderstanding between Suraj and Deepak leads to a violent altercation, and Suraj ends up killing Deepak.
After this tragic incident, Suraj is shattered and leaves his home, family, and wealth behind. He makes a new life for himself in a small village, where he meets Ganga (Deepti Naval), a widow who takes him in and helps him heal. However, Suraj's peaceful life is short-lived, as he finds out that his father has been kidnapped. He decides to rescue him and is once again forced to confront his violent past.
The movie is a blend of action, drama, and romance. It has some intense fight sequences, emotional moments, and catchy music. The performances of Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff are outstanding, and they bring their characters to life with their natural acting skills. Meenakshi Sheshadri also delivers a good performance in her role as Sapna.
The film's music, composed by Anand-Milind, is another highlight of the movie. The songs are melodious and well-written, adding to the overall impact of the film. The song "Aisi Waisi Na Samajh Sajna" is particularly memorable and has become a popular track over the years.
Overall, Dushmani: A Violent Love Story is a gripping movie with a strong storyline and impressive performances. It is a must-watch for fans of action-packed dramas and fans of Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff. Despite being released over 25 years ago, the movie still holds up well and remains a classic in Bollywood cinema history.
