Watch Dizzy Gillespie - In Redondo

Perhaps more than any other jazz trumpeter, Dizzy Gillespie was known for his incredible raw virtuoso talent in the high-flying world of faced-paced bebop music. This officially licensed live music performance video, released in 1986, takes viewers to sunny Redondo Beach in California to watch an aging but still very vibrant Gillespie and his band pull off one lightning-fast jazz track after another.

Sound quality is clearly run through the audio board rather than captured via an external microphone, as the highs, mids and lows of this intricate jazz music comes through loud and clear. The track listing includes "Birks Works", "Dizzy's Made-Up Blues" and "Jazz America".
