This documentary film is a condensed life story of legendary country music singer and songwriter, Dierks Bentley. It shows the making of his album, Riser, and also gives plenty of intimate details, such as childhood challenges, lovers he is willing to reveal, and his current family life and involvement in rural holistic healing practices. He is shown to be a little bit of a country shaman, or spiritual village doctor, using his voice and his instruments to channel old timer ways. It shows the irony of a country boy, mixed with modern recording studio technology, that he must also wield.
