Die Hard Dracula is a 1998 horror-comedy film directed by Peter Horak and starring Bruce Glover, Denny Sachen, and Kerry Dustin. The film is a low-budget independent production that was released straight-to-video. The film begins with the title character, Dracula (Geoff Ward), waking up from a long sleep in his castle in Transylvania. He discovers that hunting is no longer as easy as it used to be, as humans have developed modern technology that makes it difficult for him to remain undetected.
Desperate to find a new source of blood, Dracula decides to move to Los Angeles, where he plans to seduce and feed on young, beautiful women. However, once he arrives in the City of Angels, he discovers that he is not the only vampire in town.
The other vampire, played by Bruce Glover, is a wealthy businessman named Vincent who has been using his money to develop a serum that allows vampires to walk in daylight. Vincent is intrigued by Dracula's arrival in LA and decides to invite him to his mansion, where he proposes a business partnership.
Dracula becomes suspicious of Vincent's motives and soon discovers that the businessman has an ulterior motive. Vincent is planning to use Dracula's blood to improve his serum and extend his own life. The two vampires engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse, with Dracula determined to outsmart his ruthless rival.
Meanwhile, a group of college students, including the film's protagonist, played by Denny Sachen, stumble upon Dracula's plan and decide to take matters into their own hands. They team up with a vampire hunter, played by Kerry Dustin, to stop the two vampires from wreaking havoc on the city.
As the plot unfolds, the audience is treated to a series of comedic scenes that poke fun at vampire lore and Hollywood stereotypes. The film features a mix of horror, suspense, and humor, making it an enjoyable watch for fans of the genre.
Die Hard Dracula may not be a cinematic masterpiece, but it offers a fun and entertaining ride for those who are looking for a silly, late-night movie. The film's low-budget production values are evident, but the cast does a decent job of bringing the story to life.
All in all, Die Hard Dracula is a quirky, low-budget film that delivers on its promises of humor, horror, and entertainment. While it may not be a classic in the vampire movie genre, it is certainly worth a watch for those who enjoy a good, cheesy horror-comedy.
