A businessman is driving to a meeting in Frankfurt when he decides to stop by the side of the road and pick up a disheveled hitchhiker. The hitchhiker begins the journey seeming to be a little strange, but becomes increasingly deranged as the journey continues and he seems to be taking over the life of the driver. News of the escape of The Spring Devil from a secure hospital brings about an explanation as events take an even more sinister turn.
