Dr. Alec Harvey travels by train to the city once a week to visit the local hospital. One day, when a passing train kicks up dirt and the dirt lands in a woman's eyes, he comes to the woman's rescue, wiping the dirt away. Harvey's interaction with the woman is brief. Harvey has no idea fate has something planned for him: When Harvey sees the same woman again, he recognizes her and begins to chat with her. Harvey soon learns that her name is Anna, and she is a social worker who also travels to the city once a week. Although they are married, they begin to see each other.
