Gaullaudet College was the only college in the world for deaf students in 1960. This award winning short documentary explores the challenges deaf people face in a world where sound is the primary means of communication. Students are shown in academic classes, learning to speak, and to experience the rhythm of music. They learn to dance, and most importantly of all, they learn how to compete in the hearing world.
