Assault and Rescue: the Entebbe Raid is a gripping action-thriller movie based on the real-life events that took place in 1976, when a group of terrorists hijacked an Air France passenger plane and held the passengers and crew hostage in Entebbe, Uganda. The movie follows the daring rescue mission led by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to save the hostages.

The movie opens with the hijacking of the Air France plane by a group of terrorists led by two German terrorists, Wilfried Böse and Brigitte Kuhlmann, and two Palestinians, Mahmoud Abbas and Wadi Haddad. The terrorists divert the plane to Uganda, where they are welcomed by the country's dictator, Idi Amin, who offers them protection and even joins forces with them.

As the world watches and waits for a diplomatic solution, the Israeli government decides to take matters into their own hands. They plan a daring rescue mission, which involves flying 2,500 miles to Entebbe, landing undetected, and liberating the hostages.

The movie does an excellent job of building suspense and tension as the Israeli commandos prepare for the mission. We are introduced to the team and follow them as they train and plan for the mission. We see the meticulous attention to detail as they study the layout of the airport and practice the operation over and over again.

Once the team lands in Entebbe, the movie shifts to a high-intensity action sequence as the commandos storm the airport terminal and engage in a fierce firefight with the terrorists. The movie expertly depicts the chaos and confusion of the raid, with bullets whizzing by and explosions rocking the building.

The director, John Ridley, does a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the raid, from the bravery of the Israeli soldiers to the fear and desperation of the hostages. The tension doesn't let up until the last hostage is rescued and the team manages to escape from Entebbe.

One of the strengths of the movie is the way it manages to build characters amidst the tense action. We are shown the human side of the conflict, with both the Israeli soldiers and the hostages being depicted as ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances. The movie also explores the motives and backgrounds of the terrorists to show that they too are human beings with their own stories and justifications for their actions.

The movie showcases some excellent performances from the cast. Actor Tom Hardy gives an intense performance as the leader of the Israeli commandos, while Emma Stone delivers a nuanced and sympathetic portrayal of one of the hostages. The rest of the cast, including Mark Hamill, Kate Winslet, and John Boyega, also shine in their respective roles.

Assault and Rescue: the Entebbe Raid is a thrilling and emotional movie that manages to capture the heroism and sacrifice of the Israeli commandos and the resilience of the hostages. It's a must-watch for action movie fans and anyone interested in history and true-life stories.
