Arc is a 2006 drama film that focuses on the life of protagonist Paris Pritchert, played by Sean Apple. Paris works at a rundown video store in Los Angeles, where he spends his days watching movies and smoking weed. Through flashbacks, we learn that Paris dropped out of film school and abandoned his girlfriend, Rachel, to try to find himself.

One day, Paris discovers that he has a brain aneurysm and only has a few months to live. He starts to reexamine his priorities and relationships, including his estranged father, who is dying of cancer in Chicago.

In an effort to make peace with his past and present, Paris embarks on a road trip to Chicago with his friend, Andrew (Jonah Blechman). Along the way, they encounter a number of memorable characters, including a hitchhiking magician and a woman who offers Paris an unorthodox form of therapy.

At the heart of Arc is Paris's struggle to come to terms with his mortality and the actions of his past. He must reconcile with his father, who he blames for the death of his mother, and learn to connect with the people in his life who he has taken for granted.

The film was directed by Robert Ethan Gunnerson, and the script was written by Gunnerson and Michael Nigro. It features a strong supporting cast, including Garrett M. Brown as Paris's father, as well as Diane Robin, PJ Byrne, and Peter Facinelli.

Arc received mixed reviews from critics upon its release. While some praised the film for its emotional resonance and strong performances, others found it to be too uneven and slow-paced. However, many viewers have since discovered the film on DVD and streaming platforms and have come to appreciate it as a thoughtful meditation on life and death.

One notable aspect of Arc is its use of film clips and references throughout the story. Paris is a film buff, and his love of movies is a frequent topic of conversation throughout the film. Scenes from classic films, including Citizen Kane and It's a Wonderful Life, are intercut with Paris's journey, serving as both cinematic shorthand and a commentary on the themes of the movie.

Overall, Arc is a moving and thought-provoking drama that explores the complexities of human relationships and the fragility of life. Through Paris's journey, the film offers a poignant reminder to cherish the people we love and to make the most of the time we have.

Arc is a 2006 crime movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 53 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8.
