On December 7, 1972, astronauts Gene Cernan, Ron Evans and Harrison Schmitt blasted off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on what would be the sixth and last lunar expedition launched by NASA. This documentary is both an homage to the last time man walked on the moon and a celebration of the Apollo missions. Stunning footage captures the space flight, where the largest geographic samples were taken from the moon’s surface and brought back to Earth by Schmitt, the first geologist and scientist to make the journey. The three-day mission largely explored the Taurus-Littrow Valley.
Apollo 17: Final footprints on the Moon is a 2012 documentary with a runtime of 50 minutes.
