Comprising most of the earth's surface, sand is so durable that it is common for a grain to be over a million years old. And while all sand grains may look alike to the naked eye, they are as unique as the rocks from which they originate. The Emmy-award winning "Where's Wilbur?" blends science and art in a fun mystery about a lost dog and a few grains of sand. The kids must find and save their beloved dog from the town's mad scientist, using a few clues, some scientific reasoning and plenty of creativity. The mentors they encounter along the way include a Native American sand painter who encourages them to look at the different kinds of sand around them, and a scientist who challenges their stereotypes about mad scientists in white coats.
