Aakali Rajyam is a Telugu movie featuring the unemployment problems prevailing in the 70's and 80's in India. The movie tries to highlight the Indian political and social conditions through its characters. Kamal comes to Delhi in search of a job and doesn't agree to bribe or use political influence which sets him to go through a terrific situation in job hunt. Kamal involves in unemployment protests against the Indian Government. He starts loving Sridevi who also assists him in his motto. This struggle brings fluctuations in their financial conditions and they begin to break apart. The story revolves around how they adapt to the situation and what happens to their relationship under extreme conditions.
